MANIFESTO ANTI-ABORTION
The Brazilian Spiritist Movement, represented by the National Council Federativo Brazilian Spiritist Federation, which brings together 27 state federations and unions Spiritualists and three specialized entities nationwide, comes through this manifesto, declaring the position of the Spiritist Doctrine on the issue of abortion.
When the person's rights begin?
To Spiritism, the existence of a principle connected to the body from the time of conception is not merely articles of faith. This is proven by observation of evidence - although the so-called official science has not recognized such evidence. Reports of people in a state of hypnosis or even spontaneous memories of children, other passages that portray life and times in which being still in the womb, reveals an awareness of pre-existing body. This evidence, which has been studied in recent years by researchers from several countries confirm the position of the Spiritist Doctrine, in The Book of Spirits (issue 344):
"At that time the soul joins the body?
The union begins at conception, but only complete at birth. From the moment of conception the spirit to inhabit certain designated body binds to this loop by a fluid, which increasingly will squeeze until the moment when the child sees the light (...)."
In this way, the being that develops in the womb from fertilization of the ovum is already a person - a subject of rights - made up of body and soul.
Fortunately, the Brazilian Constitution and Civil Code are, at this point, consistent with the spiritual formation of the Brazilian people (including Catholics, Protestants, spiritualists and other denominations, which are, overall, the majority of our population). Article 5 of the Constitution guarantees "the inviolability of the right to life", thus electing such right to absolute principle, not subject to relativity. And Article 4 of the Civil Code states that "the civil personality of man begins at birth through life, but the law unless you put in, from conception, the rights of the unborn." It is recognized in this way that the unborn child is already a person, a subject of rights, which conforms to all spiritual concepts mentioned above.
The law and abortion
The Penal Code of 1940, under article 128 reads: "do not punish abortion if there is no other way to save the life of the pregnant woman and / or if the pregnancy results from rape."
As a result, lawmakers drafted the bill 20/91, which regulates the care in public health.
This project, recently approved by the Committee on Constitution and Justice of the House of Representatives, in practice, is a reaffirmation of Article 128 of the Criminal Code, guaranteeing women the effective exercise of a right.
And there are other projects that propose the complete decriminalization of abortion. But, given the absolute principle of right to life guaranteed by the Constitution and shared by Spiritism, we can not admit any relativization or conditioning that right.
Second, The Book of Spirits (issue 358):
"The provocation is a crime of abortion at any time during pregnancy?
There is crime where transgress God's law. A mother, or whoever, to commit crime always take the life of a child before its birth, because this prevents a soul going through the trials that would be an instrument body that was forming. "
The mother's life at risk
In the case of risk of the mother's life - one abortion by the Spiritist Doctrine - there are two lives in confrontation and you must choose between the right two guys.
So reads The Book of Spirits (issue 359):
"Given the case that the child's birth would endanger the life of her mother, there is crime in the first sacrifice himself to save the Second?
Is preferable if the sacrifice is not yet self-sacrificing what already exists. "(It is understood that the words be said to be incarnated in the world after the birth).
Rape
In the case of rape, when women do not feel with psychological structure to raise the child, the law should facilitate the stimulation the adoption of a child born, rather than promoting its legal death. Overlap the right to life to the psychological comfort of the mother.
Spiritism, considering the transcendent side of human situations, it stimulates the mother to carry the pregnancy and even the creation of that child, overcoming the trauma of rape, because that will possibly reincarnating spirit passed a compromise with the mother.
Abortion Eugênico
Although not regulated by law, the eugenic abortion (fetal carrier of congenital malformation irreversible) has also been practiced in Brazil, already paving the way for their legalization. Also in this case, one could not admit violation of the right to life, and the duty of every citizen, supporter of this principle, oppose the practice, only acceptable in societies imbued with eugenic philosophies, such as Sparta or ancient Nazi Germany but incompatible with a mostly Christian society.
Spiritism is especially manifest on the subject, warning that the Spirit, before reincarnating, choose this or that event (the birth of defective body or even death shortly after birth) as a learning opportunity and redemption of past mistakes .
The choice of women
Invokes the right of the woman about her own body as a pretext for discrimination of abortion. But the body in question is no longer the woman because she is home, during pregnancy, another body, which is not in any way an extension of your. Your right to choose precedes the act of conception and is subordinate to the right to deny you the right to life.
Conclusion
It is unacceptable that tiny portion of the population, consisting of a few intellectuals, politicians and professionals of the media and imbued with materialistic and relativistic principles, come to exert such influence in the Brazilian legislation, as opposed to the will and views of the majority and runs contrary to the Magna Carta of 1988.
The right to life can not be relativity, otherwise we move to the barbarism and to break all the principles that have guided our Christian culture. Notwithstanding the claims of those who want to lead public opinion, deviating from their true aspirations, the Brazilian people still mostly Christian (Christianity is that manifested as Catholic, Protestant, Spiritualist or otherwise), supporter of the existence of a spiritual principle in man and therefore advocate of human life as an inalienable right.
The unborn child is not a machine of flesh that can be turned off according to circumstantial interests, but a human being entitled to protection, in the most sacred and inviolable that nature has created: the womb.
